Our Story

Women and Pockets - it’s a whole thing! We love pockets so much, we named our company after them. We love them because we have so much to carry. And we love the feeling that something was designed with women in mind.

A dress with pockets is more than a nice surprise. Because, frankly, we’ve learned not to expect them. But a dress WITH pockets is evidence that someone thought about the woman who would actually wear it—where she would go, what she would do, what she might need to carry—and intentionally designed it with her real life in mind.

It’s the reason why a woman gets so excited when someone compliments a dress she’s wearing and she can respond with, “Thanks—it has pockets!” And that reason became the inspiration for It Has Pockets! Productions.

Women carry a lot: families, careers, creative ambitions, caregiving, relationships, responsibilities, dreams, and the endless practical details of everyday life. Yet so many of the systems we move through—particularly in the entertainment industry—aren’t designed with the reality of what women carry in mind. We want to ask a different question: “What if they were?”

What if, instead of asking women to somehow carry less in order to fit into the systems we’ve built, we built better systems around the lives women are actually living? That’s what the pocket represents to us: thoughtful design, practical support, and room for the whole person. It Has Pockets! isn’t just our name. It’s a reminder to build the work with women’s lives in mind.

And while women are at the heart of our mission, the stories we make are for everyone. We want to collaborate with good people who believe excellent work and humane working environments can coexist.
